BHS showcase at Western Food Service Expo

August 26-28, 2006

Western Food Service EXPOOur first exhibit at the Western Food Service Show in Los Angeles turned out to be a tremendous success. Restaurant owners and professionals in the food industry came to the show from all over the country to scout (discover) unique, innovative food recipes. We were there to excite their taste buds with our line of incredible ready-to-eat, Indian cuisine entrees.

Basu’s HomeStyle was the only Indian Food manufacturer to have a presence at the show. Our recipes based on secret family traditions were a huge success with both chefs and thousands of industry professionals. The atmosphere around our booth was electrifying. People who tried our entrees told their friends and colleagues about us. Even people who had not tried Indian food before were delighted by the taste and quality of our recipes. Soon the conference floor was buzzing and people made a b-line to our booth.

Western Food Service EXPOWe cooked and served while people kept coming back for seconds, even thirds! Once they experienced the taste of our entrees, it was difficult to keep them away. We did our best to “keep it coming” and answer all questions. Being our first show, we had no idea what to expect. The reception we received was overwhelmingly positive. At the end of each day we were very exhausted, but delighted by the reaction we got from attendees.

For three days, we prepared and served our homemade recipes to the best in the food industry. The excitement that our food generated at the show was unbelievable. See what attendees had to say:

Basu’s Homestyle was excellent. It’s very easy to reheat and everything was as simple and delicious as can be. The food I tasted was pretty authentic and I’d know since I eat Indian food quite a bit. In fact, I used to have my own Indian chef. In particular, I really enjoyed BHS’ beef keema wraps and chicken korma. Both meals stood out for their abundance of flavor, as both were very well seasoned and the flavors came through. You might think that just because the food was frozen that it would be dry or overcooked. In fact, my experience with BHS was the exact opposite. Everything was delicious.

I sell the most expensive steaks in the world, one’s that cost up to $300 per lb. But after I tried samples of Basu's Homestyle, I became obsessed with his food and kept on eating his stuff. It’s that good. Even in India, you’d be hard-pressed to find food with such a rich and full taste. I wish Basu the very best. Not only does the company deserve to be on top because of the quality of their product, but also because of the quality of their ownership. They know what they’re doing over there.

I ate Basu’s food every single day after trying it for the first time. I kept on having to go back for more. Everything I ate was incredibly delicious, particularly the beef keema wraps.

It was the intriguing blend of spices that made BHS stand out. I hadn’t been a big Indian food fan previously, but the flavor of the food really changed my mind. And the fact that it had been frozen shocked me too. It was so fresh and delicious. I’ve never had frozen food that I’ve liked this much—ever.”

I think Basu’s Homestyle is outstanding. Their food is of the highest quality, with impeccable textures and flavors. All in all, it’s very impressive. And it’s not just the high quality of the food that impresses me, but it’s also the way in which they’ve developed their product through homemade recipes and extensive product testing.

I go to an Indian restaurant regularly and Basu’s Homestyle stands up to it and might even be a little bit better. Basu’s rice was cooked to perfection, its color was outstanding and it tasted so fresh.

I’d recommend it to all my friends. People needn’t be skittish of frozen Indian food. I’ve spoken to the gentleman that created the recipes and I can vouch for the product. This product is full of flavor, integrity and passion.

It was excellent. The flavors and spices were delicious without being over-seasoned or too strong. It was very delicate and contained tons of flavors. It was definitely pleasing to my palate.

I actually eat a lot of Indian food and other various Asian cuisines and Basu’s stacked up very nicely against them. It was a very enjoyable experience. The chicken korma was definitely one of my favorites. I tried it several times and kept on going back for more and more food. It was tasty without being overpowering or overwhelming. I couldn’t believe it was frozen, nor could I believe how easy it was to prepare.

At the Food Expo, I encouraged everyone I knew to try BHS. Every person I spoke to was worried about how spicy it was and whether or not they’d need water immediately after trying it. But their mood is mild and pleasant. There is no bitter after-taste. You don’t have to be an Indian cuisine expert to enjoy it. It’s for everyone.

Basu’s food is great. I never would’ve thought that it had been frozen. I go to a lot of Indian, Thai and Nepalese restaurants and this food holds its own against any of them. I can’t believe how fresh this frozen food tasted. I had the booth across from Basu for the duration of the Western Restaurant conference and every single person that tried the food had nothing but positives to say about it.

In particular, the chicken korma and the keema wrap stood out, but everything I tried was excellent, including the naan. I could definitely see myself serving Basu’s homestyles at a dinner party. I need it would be the hit of the evening.

I really enjoyed eating Basu’s Homestyle. It was wonderful;. The flavor was wonderful, the taste was wonderful and the ingredients were all wonderful. I really loved their chicken korma and their keema wraps.

I don’t eat Indian food a lot but I love it. I know the difference between good and bad Indian food and BHS was great. The food was just fabulous. I told all my friends about it and even passed out fliers. This food needs to be at Trader Joe’s so I can buy it all the time. I eat Trader Joe’s chicken marsala quite a bit, but it can’t hold a candle to Basu’s Homestyle.

I’d never tried Indian food before, but surprisingly I really enjoyed Basu’s food. It was delightful, full of flavor and it left me wanting more. It’s the type of food that I crave and could eat all the time.

In particular, I loved the chicken korma and the rice. I never would’ve even thought I’d have liked curry, but I did. Who knew? Everything just tasted so incredibly fresh and the presentation was also fantastic.

Try it before you judge it. If you’re in a hamburger or casserole rut this is the thing to break you out of it. It’s different from the norm. It’s full flavored food

I really liked Basu’s food. First of all, it food tasted fantastic and I eat at a lot of Indian restaurants, so I’m a pretty tough sell. However, my son doesn’t particularly like Indian food and rarely joins me for these excursions. But when I had my son try BHS he loved it. It was fantastic. It’s the type of Indian food that I dream about.

In particular, I enjoyed the beef keema wraps. I couldn’t believe that it had been frozen, because normally I hate frozen foods. I’m the kind of person that can tell when something has been sitting in the fridge, let alone the freezer, so I usually hate anything that isn’t fresh. But Basu’s food was incredible and completely fresh. It just can’t be beat.
