BHS showcase at the All Asian Food Show

October 15-16,2006

All Asian Food ShowThe All Asia Food Show turned out to be an explosive event! Once more, we were the only Indian Food presence at the show and once more we had the busiest booth. But then again, great food always helps draw a crowd. This time we were prepared for the mass of people that visited the booth. Our team was out in full force to serve, greet and speak with excited visitors. Basu himself was there to enlighten us with stories about his family’s secret recipes and to make every visitor feel comfortable and welcome – as he would in his own home.

The visitors at this show were quite different than our last (Western Food Service Expo). I can only describe them as fanatical when it came to the taste of our food. Celebrity chefs that cater to Hollywood’s elite were dancing and shouting in front of our booth at the smell, sight and flavor of our food. They even went so far as to proclaim their undying loyalty to BasusHomestyle Cuisine. I even witnessed one of them shed a tear or two. We had to promise to send some of them samples just to get them to let go of the serving utensils.

Let's not forget about the fashion models. Notorious for being finicky eaters, the models asked for several helpings of each dish. We did our best to keep up with their requests.

All Asian Food ShowThen there was the group of ladies that came back with empty Tupperware dishes they wanted filled to the brim with BasusHomestyle Entrees. But that’s another story. If you weren’t able to join us, you missed a truly unique experience. We hope to see you at the next show!

See what our fans at the All Asia Food Show had to say…

I recall trying at least two different items of Basu’s: the chicken korma and keema wrap and I liked them both. The flavors were incredibly great. I’m a flavor junkie but I was more than satisfied. The flavor was particularly intense considering that it was frozen food. It tasted like it was fresh out of the oven.

Any time you’re serving frozen food you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage, but that wasn’t the case with Basu’s food. If you’re able to mimic that fresh food flavor, than you’ve already succeeded on some level and in that regard, Basu’s Homestyle is a success. The product was definitely one of the better tasted frozen products that I’ve had in long while.

One of the girls in my booth tried BHS first and pointed me in Basu’s direction. We’re big Indian cuisine fans. We always try to go out at least once a week for Indian food. It’s one of my favorite types of food but it’s really hard to find good Indian food in Atlanta. Needless to say, I hadn’t had any in awhile so I was anxious to try BHS. And I wasn’t disappointed. The food was delicious. I craved it all day, every day.

I tried chicken korma and immediately thought it was awesome because it was spicy yet not overwhelmingly spicy. I can only think of one other restaurant in all of Atlanta that makes food as consistently delicious as that.

I didn’t even know that it was frozen until very recently. I’d definitely recommend it to my friends. If I could get something like this in the market and take it home it would be perfect. I love eating Indian food but I’m terrified to try to make it at home. BHS is the perfect compromise.

First off, when it says Homestyle on the product, it certainly means it. From the freezer to the plate, there isn’t one frozen product in the continental United States that I’ve found with maximum flavor for your plate: except for Basu’s Homestyle.

I have nearly 18 years of experience in the culinary industry. I’ve cooked in restaurants, hotels, cafés and for celebrities, and all I try to do in the kitchen is give my clients maximal flavor, something that BHS does quite well. The chicken korma was just phenomenal. With its exotic herbs and seasonings, it bursts into your mouth and it creates a utopian circus of flavor. You can’t match it, no one can. If you want something from your grocer’s freezer that is the real deal, get this product. It’s the real McCoy. Finally!! There is flavor from your grocer’s freezer to your plate.

I liked Basu’s Homestyle because it tasted like authentic Indian food. It was just spicy enough but not too overwhelming. And it definitely wasn’t bland. The quality and texture was also really good.

I’m a vegetarian so finding good Indian food can be very difficult, so I was particularly excited to find such delicious vegetarian options. I had the vegetable korma and a spicy vegetarian curry dish and I’d say that it was better than what I’ve had in restaurants. It tastes like they put so much effort into each and every batch. The spices, the flavors and the flavor of the vegetables really set them apart. Everything seems to be of such high quality.

I was surprised to find out that it was frozen. I haven’t had frozen Indian food before, but I do eat the Taste of India foods that come in a package. Those are usually good but they’re overwhelmed with spices and the flavor isn’t necessarily consistent, unlike BHS. I’ve also been going to Indian restaurants for 10-plus years and usually the food is good but not great. Basu’s Homestyle was great.

I thought Basu’s Homestyle was fabulous. After I tasted it, I went back and tried to buy some, but there wasn’t any food left. It was very impressive and incredibly delicious. I tried both of the kormas which were fabulous. I’m ready to look in my local grocery store to find BHS.

I like Indian food and I’ve even been to India, but this was really well-developed for the American palate. It was very flavorful and very excellent. BHS had all the benefits of restaurant food without having to go out and get it. If it were available in my neighborhood, I would definitely buy it.
