Cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, turmeric, cloves, cardamom, mustard seed, fennel, saffron, etc. are spicy foods. These and many other ingredients such as onion, garlic, and tamarind make foods flavorful and savory, yet they don’t make them “hot.”
