I’d eaten Indian food before and had enjoyed it, but had never actually made the conversion to becoming an Indian food lover. Sure, I liked it, but in the same way that I liked Ethiopian food or Persian food. It was ideal about once a year as something to break up my palate, but it didn’t have the appeal of Mexican, Italian or Chinese food, which are staples of my diet. Basu’s HomeStyle changed all that.
There is something powerful and overwhelmingly delicious about the unique and fantastic combinations of spices and flavorings that Basu puts into each one of his meals. The lamb and chicken are so delicate and bursting with tenderness and taste. And the rice is soft, fluffy and mouthwateringly good. Basu’s food is almost like a benevolent drug, one that you want to keep on going back to. It’s impossible to eat one of Basu’s meals without leaving the dinner table brimming with contentment.
It staggers me sometimes to think that these meals have been frozen, as though it is somehow defying nature that something so delicious could have been pre-made. However, Basu’s foods hold up their own against the finest Indian restaurants in the world. Except that it’s a whole lot more convenient in that they deliver to your door, which is great for me, because thanks to these delicacies, suddenly I’ve been craving Indian food more than ever.
